Survey Equipment Survey Equipment used by CT Surveys
Here at CT Surveys we have a collection of the latest modern surveying equipment, such as Robotic Leica, Trimble and GeoMax Total Stations, Leica & GeoMax GPS and Leica and Faro laser scanners. This enables us to record field observations for topographic and building surveys and then easily transfer the data to a computer. The advantage of the Total Station equipment being robotic is that it can be used by just one person. The robotic equipment works extremely quickly, and is perfect for carrying out topographic surveys, boundary surveys and setting out.
Our Leica, Trimble and GeoMax Total Station equipment all have a reflector-less laser. Using this technology, it is possible to record data beyond the boundary of the survey area we are measuring without the need of access, meaning we can locate neighbouring properties including roof levels easily and quickly.
We also use the latest Leica GS08plus and GeoMax Zenith GPS Systems. Both systems use the GPS and GLONASS satellites which give a high level of accuracy when it comes to measuring and fast satellite detection.
Our company use our GPS RTK SmartRovers for topographical, flood risk and GPS control surveys. The Environment Agency requires all surveys that are in an area which is at risk of flood to be carried out using accurate GPS equipment.
In 2006 we took the decision to invest in laser scanning technology. We now own and use three High Definition 3D Laser Scanners: 1No. Leica P40 Scanstation and two Faro S70 scanners. This enables us to capture the detail for measured building surveys with an outstanding level of high detail in a fraction of the time it would take using traditional survey techniques.
Within the industry, laser scanning is becoming more common due to the high level of detail which can be provided and the speed that this is collected. Our company have procured many projects due to the use of our laser scanning equipment, setting us at a level above many of our competitors. Having a number of scanners allows us have two or three survey teams on site at the same time. This can result in the actual time spent on site being massively reduced, saving money and turning projects around in half the time of some of our competitors.
