GPS Surveys
If you require a GPS survey, we have the Leica GS08, Geomax Zenith 15 and Zenith 16 GNSS systems. This technology makes use of the GPS & GLONASS and GALILEO satellites, which gives the advantage of providing extremely accurate measurement as well as rapid satellite detection.
Our company use the RTK SmartRover when carrying out topographical surveys, flood surveys, Survey Control and setting out. We can use the GPS to locate Trial Pits and Boreholes from Ground Investigation works, giving an position and level to Ordnance Survey Grid and Level datums.
Requirements laid out by the Environment agency stipulate that any survey carried out for flooding purposes must be done with the use of GPS control in order to achieve level datum. We have found that this technology has become the most efficient and easiest way to level any site to Ordnance Survey. It can also provide OS Grid coordinates if required.
Flood Risk Surveys
When we have collated the data with the GPS survey, we then use LSS (Land Survey Software) to process the site plan.
With the the use of LSS software, we can produce a 3D visualisation which will show what the land could look like if it were to be flooded up to any given height.
Our company work with Flood Risk Assessment specialists, and part of this assessment will usually require a GPS survey to be produced as part of the report.
