Chris Tutin was the co-director at an established survey company in Yorkshire for over 4 years after taking over the role following his father’s untimely death in 2000. Chris has worked as a full time surveyor since 1998 so has had many years of experience within the surveying profession. Chris is also Chartered with ICES.

Chris was very eager to start his own surveying business, which was established in July 2004. CT Surveys very quickly gained an excellent reputation for precise and well presented survey plans within the Yorkshire area and further afield. CT Surveys has grown over the years and the company now has a very large client base, welcoming new enquiries from any company or individual, wherever the location and whatever the size of project.

As well as our client base expanding, so too are the level of services on offer, which have included laser scanning since 2006, 3D point clouds and now 3D Building Information Modelling (BIM). Our experienced staff are here to help provide the base information your project will rely on, and can rely on with confidence.

Although our company is based in Yorkshire, we undertake survey work throughout the whole of the UK and can be regularly found in Southern England and London laser scanning some of the UK's most iconic buildings, large residential buildings, offices and retail buildings.

CT Surveys are based in Yorkshire near the M1, M62, M18 and the A1 (M) motorway networks. This location means that we are ideally placed for easy access to much of the country; Sheffield, Leeds, Harrogate, Huddersfield, Bradford and York are all within a 30 minute driving distance from our location.

Your project will rely on an accurate base plan from the very start and we can provide this information with confidence. Whether you have a large or small project, if you’re in need of surveying professionals to measure a property either topographically, or by laser scanning for a building survey, we would be happy to help support you with your project.

In October 2006, CT Surveys handed in our application for member status of The Survey Association (TSA), and were accepted.

Members of the TSA are always committed to increasing the standards within the industry, so you can be given assurance that as part of this organisation, you will be in the hands of professionals if you decide to use our services. We have been a part of TSA's Continuing Company Development Scheme (CCD) since 2012 giving you confidence we are up to date with the latest survey techniques.

TSA members are constantly vetted both technically and financially. Using a TSA registered company means that you are given protection by using a carefully controlled membership system.

The TSA has a Technical Committee. They are always working hard to update and create existing guides on different aspects of the surveying process. Please see the link below to access these guides.

The TSA’s guidelines are generally targeted towards other experts, for example engineers, architects, planners and general clients. They aren't designed to go into technical specifics of surveying, but are supposed to act as a guide on a specific topic, and is more aimed towards regulations and procedures which may govern how a certain aspect of a survey is done.
