HDS Laser Scanning
HDS Laser Scanning

Require a building survey including detailed elevations? Laser scanning offers an alternative to traditional survey techniques. High speed laser scanning can capture data of complex surfaces and often inaccessible environments much quicker than other methods of surveying.
Once the site survey has been carried out, the need for a return visit is rarely necessary due to the completeness and density of the data capture from the laser scan.
Due to the speed of laser scanning and data capture, the amount of time spent on site is massively reduced, yet the information collected is far superior to that of traditional techniques.
The laser scanner produces a '3D point cloud' from each individual scan which can then be pieced together using Cyclone to produce a full 3D model of the scanned object. This complete 3D point cloud is then output from Cyclone into a CAD packageand can be traced around to produce accurate and very detailed 2D elevation drawings.
The point cloud shows so much information that a full building survey can be drawn from the cloud data: detailed external elevations and internal elevations can be drawn to a very high accuracy. Cross sections and sectional elevations can be drawn and, viewed from above, floor plans can be accurately produced.
We are working towards providing our clients with the 3D point cloud data collected from site so they can then work on the building without the need of our drawings. This can save a huge amount of time and money. Almost every bit of information the client needs can be found the 3D point cloud data. At the moment we can offer the cloud model so clients can view it using the FREE Cyclone viewer which can be downloaded from the link on the right.
We are also working towards providing BIM drawings and hope to be in the position to provide this as part of our service very soon.
